Sounds pretty obvious at this point right? Well the decision has been made, Mitch Trubisky is the week one starter. and it came directly from Tomlin. The press conference at this point has been derailed due to technical difficulties. Aside from the press conference, a lot of attention is focused on Art Rooney II has a “special announcement”.

    Mitch Trubisky Week one starter

It is not surprising news at this point that Mitch is now the starter. He took most of the first team snaps during camp and practice. Additionally, he was the starter in each of their three preseason games. Throughout the process however, Tomlin was adamant of not naming the starter until he was ready to. This is the first time in Tomlin’s tenure he has been in these uncharted waters. With always having a super bowl winning quarterback at the helm he now has tough decisions to make.

I believe Tomlin made the right choice by finally announcing the starter. More so recently Tomlin commented on the depth chart put out on Monday. Apparently it was a clerical error and Mason Rudolph will not be the second string QB. Instead, Kenny Pickett is the obvious number two man on the chart. We are eagerly awaiting the technical difficulties to be resolved and for the press conference to resume. I will provide full coverage of the press conference and Art Rooney II big announcement after it finishes.

As always thanks for reading! You can always find great Steelers content here on Gridiron Heroics.
