The Missouri Tigers opened the 2024 college season at home on Thursday night against the Murray State Racers from the FCS. The #11 ranked Tigers got off to a fast start with a Brady Cook 16-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III on the opening drive of the game.

Missouri Tigers Luther Burden III Will Play a Big Role In the Offense This Season
Burden III plays in a very tough SEC Conference and he will be needed later in the season. Missouri will face the Buffalo Bulls next season. However, the Tigers’ toughest game on the schedule will be on Saturday, October 26 at #5 Alabama Crimson Tide. Missouri has a chance to get to the expanded college football playoffs this season.
The Missouri Tigers offense will be reliant on Burden III this season. It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers he will put up during the 2024 season compared to his 2023 campaign. When people watch the Tigers this season, they will be tuning in to watch the star wide receiver.
Potential Top 10 Pick In the 2025 NFL Draft
Had Burden III been able to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft, he could have very well been a first-round selection. For the 2025 NFL Draft, there will be debates all season long between Burden III and Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Travis Hunter about who should be the first wide receiver off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The New England Patriots will need to draft a wide receiver very high in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a chance that the Carolina Panthers will also need to draft a wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft. New England, Carolina, and other wide receiver teams will be scouting Burden III during the 2024 college football season.
