An under the radar out of conference matchup between Mississippi State and Arizona should be intriguing. Both teams dominated in their first game and now for the first time in either program history meet up. Mississippi State Bulldogs looks to creep up in the SEC West, as the Arizona Wildcats tries to prove to opponents that they are NOT a sure victory. Here is the Mississippi State v. Arizona preview and prediction for this under the sun matchup this Saturday.
Arizona Preview

By far one of the most impressive wins from week one was Arizona defeating SDSU easily throughout four quarters. Led by the sidearm gunslinger transfer (Wash. St.) QB, Jayden De Laura, who threw for four TD’s. Three of those went to also transfer (UTEP) WR, Jacob Cowing, who racked up 152 yards.
Arizona’s defense was impressive last Saturday only allowing 62 passing yards and forced two turnovers. The third-down defense was impressive also, allowing SDSU to convert only 18.2% of those. The only weakness was the run defense allowing 170 yards with 4 yards per rush.
Mississippi State Preview

Mississippi State bullied the Tiger of Memphis last week by a score of 49-23. After a brief weather delay in Starkville, the Bulldogs started the game off quick with a 14-0 lead. The Bulldogs made sure they dominated time of possession with boll hogging for 41 minutes. QB Will Rogers led this air-raid attack with 450 pass yards and 5 TD’s.
The defense for the Bulldogs also looked great allowing 294 yards to Memphis. I will not criticize the 13 fourth quarter garbage points they allowed, but they will need to clean that up once in SEC play. The Bulldogs let the Tigers only convert 25% on third down and forced one fumble.
Prediction: Arizona Wildcats (+11)

I like what I saw this past Saturday against SDSU. HC Fisch went out during the offseason and transformed this Wildcats team. To win only one game last season and now securing win number one of this season in week one is marvelous.
Mississippi State though will be a tougher task than SDSU. If this game for the Wildcats was on the road, I would lean towards the Bulldogs. The Wildcats have the nothing to lose momentum after probably being written off the first two games.
Maybe the Wildcats will face the struggling road Mississippi State team. Where Mississippi State is 4-12 SU in their L16 games played on Saturday when playing on the road.
Do I have the Wildcats winning? Probably not, but I have them competing all 60 minutes and covering! Go Wildcats!
