The Minnesota Vikings are losing a wide receiver

The Minnesota Vikings are making some significant changes to their roster before the 2023 season. The Vikings released All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks this week. The Vikings are now going to be without another All-Pro next season. This time, they’ll lose star power on the offensive side of the ball.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Vikings are cutting wide receiver Adam Thielen.

Thielen will be a big miss for quarterback Kirk Cousins next season. The Vikings have another All-Pro wide receiver, Justin Jefferson, on the roster. But having the pair of Thielen and Jefferson on the field stretches defensive secondaries. Thielen’s services will be a hot commodity next week.

Unfortunately, keeping both of them costs a lot of money. And that’s something in short supply for Minnesota this offseason. According to Over The Cap, the Vikings are over $9 million in the red before the free agency period.
