The Minnesota Vikings had a few questionable calls go their way during a 23-13 win over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The Vikings improved to 8-2 with the victory while the Titans dropped to 2-8. First-year Titans head coach Brian Callahan wasn’t happy with a decisive call that went against Tennessee in the second quarter.
With 7:28 left in the second quarter and the Vikings up 7-3, Minnesota decided to go for it on a fourth-down and goal from the Tennessee 1-yard line. Safety Mike Brown broke up a pass from Sam Darnold that was intended for second-year wide receiver Jordan Addison.
However, officials flagged Brown for unnecessary roughness. Callahan would receive an unsportsmanlike penalty for his protest.
The Vikings would score a touchdown on the next play via a Darnold run.

Callahan defended Brown’s hit on Monday when he spoke to reporters, calling it a “textbook” play.
“I think that what [Brown] did was within the letter of the law, it was a legal play,” Callahan said, per the Titans’ website. “I know part of that process was whether he launched or not, and I didn’t think that was the case. … I thought it was a really nice play. It was a hell of a play to dislodge the ball from the receiver on a legal hit, and (I’m) disappointed that it got flagged. I wouldn’t tell him to do anything differently. I thought that was a pretty clean and textbook hit.”
NFL fans claim the game was rigged for the Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings would take a 13-3 lead after Darnold’s touchdown run. They’d expand their lead to 16-3 before the Titans would score a touchdown in the third quarter.
Many fans on social media thought the officials put the game in the Vikings’ pocket by calling the unnecessary roughness penalty. With the Vikings coming into the contest as a 5.5-point favorite, the touchdown after the flag ultimately cost some bettors who put money on the Titans.
“Typical NFL Trash officiating,” wrote a fan.
“I have never seen a game as rigged as this Titans/Vikings game. Disgusting refs,” posted another.
“I mean this rigged refereeing in the NFL I see every week. But I’ve never seen anything as blatantly obvious as what’s going on with the Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans. I don’t think there’s any laws against referees rigging games but there should be,” commented a fan.
“Refs in the Titans vs Vikings game proving that the NFL is rigged and scripted,” suggested one poster.
“Titans/Vikings game is rigged. The Bears offense looks lively. Richardson hates Taylor. Weird week of football,” wrote another.
“NFL is rigged. Can’t watch games like the Titans and Vikings and say it’s not,” posted a fan.
