The Minnesota Vikings are starting to get ready for the fourth season of Kevin O’Connell as the team’s head coach. The team is coming off a solid 2024 campaign wherein the Vikings went 14-3 to finish second in the NFC North division and secure a slot in the NFL playoffs.
A bunch of their wins in 2024 also came in road games, where Minnesota went 6-2 overall.
But “road game” will have a much different feel for the Vikings in the 2025 campaign, particularly with regard to two contests they will have to play across the pond – and in two different countries.

The Minnesota Vikings will become the first team in NFL history to play consecutive international games in different countries this season.
As part of its 2025 international games slate unveiled Tuesday, the NFL announced that the Vikings will play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 28 at Croke Park in Dublin, marking the league’s first regular-season game in Ireland.
Minnesota Vikings owner sounds off on international 2025 games

Vikings owner Mark Wilf seemingly loves the idea of his team playing in another country for a couple of games, as he spoke highly of Minnesota’s opportunity to see action in Ireland.
“Playing in Ireland’s first-ever NFL game is an opportunity to introduce new fans to the Minnesota Vikings and help the league continue to make the game of football more accessible globally,” Wilf said (h/t Minnesota’s official website). “To do so against a storied franchise like the Pittsburgh Steelers adds a unique challenge that makes this even more special. We are honored to be selected for this historic game and will be anxious to see what promises to be an electric game day environment in Croke Park.”
