Some Minnesota Vikings players had some fun recently with the team’s social media team, which asked them about something random they feel like they have some sort of expertise on.
Quarterback JJ McCarthy was the first one to answer based on the video shared by the Vikings, with the former Michigan Wolverines star signal-caller saying, “Something random I know a lot about would be meditation and different practices.”

It’s an interesting subject of choice for McCarthy to have some level of familiarity with, but that must also be a big help for him in his career, especially after dealing with a devastating lower-body injury he suffered before the 2024 NFL season.
McCarthy, who was taken in the first round (10th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft by Minnesota, is now expected to be the team’s QB1 following the departure of Sam Darnold. It remains to be seen whether he’ll live up to his high draft position, but what’s certain is that he’ll have great weapons to work with in 2025.

Justin Jefferson praises McCarthy’s arm

There is more to just arm strength for a quarterback, especially in the NFL, but that is still a quality that can grab attention. McCarthy appears to have that, as noted by Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
“He definitely has an arm,” Jefferson said (via Kevin Seifert of ESPN). “That’s for sure. He can definitely zip it whenever he needs to.”
Jefferson will soon find out whether that strength also comes with accuracy. He’ll surely get plenty of firsthand samples to see that, considering he’s arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL today. Last season, Jefferson had 1,533 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 103 receptions and 154 targets.
