“We’re So Back”: Minnesota Vikings Fans Hyped for Pro Bowlers’ Reunion

The Minnesota Vikings desperately needed to address the wide receiver position following roster cuts. Rondale Moore is out for the season with a knee injury, Justin Jefferson recently returned to practice after missing three and a half weeks with a hamstring injury, Tai Felton is dealing with minor hand soreness, and Jalen Nailor is week-to-week with a hand injury as well. Meanwhile, the NFL suspended Jordan Addison for the first three games for violating the league’s Substance Abuse Policy.

Because of this, the Vikings were in the market for a veteran receiver.

The Minnesota Vikings have expressed interest in reuniting with Adam Thielen over the past week after spending the last two seasons apart. The main disagreement between the two parties is that the Vikings wanted them to eat part of the 35-year-old’s salary, while the Carolina Panthers also sought multiple draft picks in exchange. Thielen enters the final year of his contract and is scheduled to earn a $6.25 million base salary, a $750,000 prorated signing bonus, a $500,000 bonus, and a $7.19 million cap hit in 2025, according to Over The Cap.

According to Adam Schefter, the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers have agreed to a massive one-player trade and multiple late-round pick swaps. The Vikings acquire Adam Thielen and take on his entire salary, along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, while the Panthers receive a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick. Finally, Thielen returns to his hometown for what might be his last season in the NFL.
