Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade to the Miami Dolphins by the Pittsburgh Steelers has had people talking about it since last week when it was first announced. It seems like the topic is still a major dinner-table forum material with former Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, sharing his two cents on the story in a recent episode of his podcast, ‘Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger’.
According to Roethlisberger, Fitzpatrick’s trade to the Dolphins was definitely massively shocking, but also understandable. The quarterback took time to explain the various factors that could have led to the safety’s trade from the Steelers to the Dolphins.
“The jaws dropped and I couldn’t believe it. I would say I was caught off guard with it too. I may go all over the place with this, and I may bounce around with me thoughts, but I will try to hit as many things as I can. I guess the first place I will go with this is I know there have been some talks in the last few years about maybe the lack of production or splash plays… They weren’t happy with it, but I didn’t think that it would get to this point.” Ben Roethlisberger said about Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade in his podcast.

Roethlisberger also felt that Minkah Fitzpatrick did some major injustice to himself by putting up impressive performances with the Steelers. After churning out great numbers, any slight dip in performance is highlighted very much, which can lead the team to consider a trade. For Fitzpatrick’s trade, the Steelers brought in cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith. This move by the Steelers has actually brought in more negative reactions than positive ones.

Minkah Fitzpatrick’s Former Team Not Done With Offseason Moves
Meanwhile, Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade is not the end of the offseason moves for the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to NFL analysts, the team will definitely be doing a few more moves before the regular season kicks off and will bring in a wide receiver.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have definitely been one of the most interesting teams in this NFL offseason. The team not only waited so long for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to sign with them, but also made many unconventional offseason moves like Fitzpatrick’s trade. However, the Steelers seem to be pretty confident that they are making the right decisions for their team, not only for this upcoming season, but also for the long run. This air of confidence has led several analysts to feel that the team will definitely make it to the Super Bowl next year.
