The Ohio State Buckeyes were massive favorites at home on Saturday afternoon against the Michigan Wolverines. Ohio State had lost three straight games against Michigan heading into the matchup. The Buckeyes suffered a stunning loss at home by a final score of 13-10.
With the loss, Ohio State dropped to 10-2 on the season. There was a lot of backlash from the fanbase about head coach Ryan Day. Many wonder if he should be the head coach after this season ends.
Ohio State Buckeyes Fans Want Mike Vrabel As Next Head Coach And Ryan Day Out
There were many Buckeyes fans after the game who went onto social media and took out their frustration. One of the things that many fans agree on is that Ryan Day should be fired and they should do whatever it takes to hire Mike Vrabel as the next head coach. Here is what some fans had to say about it on Twitter:
Mike Vrabel would be an interesting choice for next head coach of Ohio State pic.twitter.com/j5aJY0UtOx

Will Mike Vrabel be the new Ohio State Buckeyes coach?

This may age really poorly, but there is no way Mike Vrabel is going to coach Ohio State if they dump Ryan Day.
He doesn’t want to recruit or deal with NIL. He wants to deal with grown-ass men.

Mike Vrabel please save Ohio State

In the event that Ryan Day is not the HC at Ohio State next season, to me there are four clear targets:
Dan Lanning (let me dream)
Mike Vrabel
Kenny Dillingham

For now, Vrabel is with the Cleveland Browns coaching staff in the NFL. He will no doubt get coaching offers in the NFL this offseason. However, the Buckeyes could no question give him an offer to replace Ryan Day as head coach next season and beyond.
Lose Out On BIG10 Title Game
Had the Buckeyes won on Saturday, they would have gone to the BIG10 title game against the Oregon Ducks. Instead, it will be Oregon and the Penn State Nittany Lions next week for the title. With the loss for Ohio State, they will most likely be on the road in the first round of the playoffs.
This will not be an ideal situation for the program. With the loss against the Michigan Wolverines, it feels all but over as Ryan Day is the head coach of this program. Unless they win it all this season, Mike Vrabel or somebody else will be coaching them in 2025 and beyond.
