“I Wasn’t Getting Tough Answers”: Mike Tomlin Blasted By James Harrison For Role In Ugly Steelers Split

Mike Tomlin, head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was recently dissed by former NFL linebacker James Harrison in his new podcast. Harrison hopped on the podcast wagon like everyone else and his show is titled ‘Deebo & Joe’. The first episode was released on Monday and was definitely juicy and full of tea.

James Harrison revealed the actual reason for his departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers squad after playing for the team for a few seasons. According to the podcast episode, the main reason seems to be none other than Mike Tomlin, who was the head coach of the team at that time.

“Where my relationship with Tomlin broke down was towards the end, the last year in Pittsburgh. He always says, ‘Ask a tough question, I’ll give you a tough answer.’ Well, I was asking the tough questions, but I wasn’t getting the tough answers. I was getting the answers that he thought would appease me, to be quite honest with you. I’m like, ‘Yo, I need to play, I need to do this, I need to do that.’ ‘Yeah, OK, we got plans. We’re going to do something,’ and nothing came to it.” Former NFL linebacker, James Harrison, revealed in the first episode of his ‘Deebo & Joe’ podcast.

After leaving the Steelers, Harrison managed to shuttle around the league with different teams, and even got into the Pittsburgh squad a couple more times. Despite him not having such stellar numbers, the linebacker managed to win two Super Bowl rings in his NFL career. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin has not responded to Harrison’s comments.

Mike Tomlin And Steelers To Kick Off Season With Jets Face-Off

On another note, Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers will soon kick off their 2025 NFL season with a matchup against the New York Jets in Week 1 this upcoming weekend. The Steelers will be coming to this face-off after winning two games and losing one in the preseason. The team will definitely be hoping to score big this time out, especially after being chucked from the tournament in the previous season in the Wild Card round.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are boasting a new quarterback in veteran Aaron Rodgers, who has signed a one-year deal with the team. The Week 1 matchup will definitely be interesting as Rodgers played for the Jets in the 2024 NFL season. Tomlin and Rodgers are confident of lifting the Lombardi Trophy in this new campaign.
