Michigan has one of the best defenses in college football, and last year, they rode it to win a national championship.
Many pieces from last year’s defense left for the NFL this offseason, but the best player had to return for his junior season.
Cornerback Will Johnson is one of the best in the county and could be the number one overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
Johnson had a game-sealing pick-six against Fresno State on Saturday, and he has been getting a lot of high praise from many national media outlets.
One of the best football outlets, Pro Football Focus, noticed how great the star corner is and made some interesting comments about him.

Johnson could be in the NFL right now if he were allowed to enter the NFL Draft this past offseason, but since he had to return to school, he is the number one corner in the nation and the best defensive player in college football.
Michigan will need Johnson big time this season to stop the high-flying offenses of Texas, Oregon, USC, and Ohio State, and the junior corner could make himself the number-one pick in the draft if he can shut down the number-one wide receivers on those teams.
Michigan also has the best defensive tackle in the county, Mason Graham, so the defense will be one of the best again in college football, and they have a chance to be even better under a new defensive coordinator, Wink Martindale.
Look for the Wolverines to have another great season this year, and if Johnson and Graham can play like they did last season, Michigan could be legit players to repeat as champions if they can get some life from the offense that is replacing almost everyone from last year’s team.
