Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines have had a busy offseason. Despite what some would consider an “underwhelming” transfer class, Michigan is dominating the recruiting field. The Wolverines have the number nine class of 2025, including two five-stars, Bryce Underwood and Andrew Babaloa. And now they are looking to add a third.
This morning, Michigan senior Jeffrey Persi announced he would enter the transfer portal as a graduate. This news comes after five-star tackle Ty Haywood re-opened his recruitment after being committed to Alabama.

Michigan has been on a hot streak since landing Bryce Underwood in November, and now is on track to land Haywood.
Sherrone Moore
Moore has been a fantastic recruiter in his young head coaching career. After Michigan’s disappointing 8-5 season, the Wolverines have seemed to reload their roster. And it’s no surprise he’s landing top offensive lineman. Before Moore was even the offensive coordinator in Ann Arbor, he was the offensive line coach.
Moore spent his college years as a tackle for the Oklahoma Sooners and has found success landing top linemen, and sending them to the NFL. Since Moore took over as the offensive line coach in 2021, he’s sent nine linemen to the NFL.
Now five-star Ty Haywood hopes to join that group.

Haywood hasn’t committed to the Wolverines yet, but all signs point to him ending up in Ann Arbor this spring.
Michigan Going Forward
The Wolverines still have work to do the be national title threats once again. But it seems Sherrone Moore is following the Jim Harbaugh strategy. Play great defense and ground and pound on offense.
There are already three great running backs in Ann Arbor; the transfer portal’s top back Justice Haynes, ReliaQuest Bowl MVP Jordan Marshall, and scat back Benjamin Hall.
Moore has his pick of who those three will be running behind in 2025, as Evan Link, Andrew Sprauge, Andrew Babaloa, and now Ty Haywood will be competing for the two starting tackle spots. It’s rare that true-freshman start at any level on the offensive line, but Babaloa and Haywood are talented players and good make an impact early.
