The Michigan Wolverines recruiting efforts have been doing well as of late. Jim Harbaugh clearly knows how to get prospects to commit to the program. He has been able to garner interest from all corners of the country. Currently, Michigan is locked in a battle for four-star running back Taylor Tatum.

Michigan Wolverines Recruiting: Taylor Tatum
Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards could both potentially leave for the NFL after this season. This leaves a massive hole in the running back position. Tatum is a 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back out of Longview, Texas. Nationally he is the 39th overall recruit and the 3rd-ranked running back. He has offers from all of the big programs which makes this a difficult battle. However, the Wolverines are in the mix thanks to good recruiting from running backs coach Mike Hart.

The Lone Crystal Ball
While nothing is official, there has been one crystal ball put in for Michigan. Mike Roach, who is a Texas insider, has already put in a crystal ball for the Wolverines. If Harbaugh could steal a recruit out of Texas from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and most crucially Ohio State, it would be a huge win for the program. One reason for the crystal ball is that Michigan can promise almost immediate playing time. Tatum would not have to wait behind a senior running back. He could be a difference-maker right away.
This won’t be the last recruiting battle that Jim Harbaugh finds himself in. As Michigan continues to be nationally relevant, expect more recruits to give the Wolverines a serious look.
