Michigan Wolverines: Michigan Fans React To The Significant News That Will Reshape Their Program

Michigan is having a horrible start to their 2024 season, even though they have a winning record of 2-1. In the first game of the season, they fought until the end with Fresno State and needed a Will Johnson pick-six late in the fourth quarter to win the game.

In Week Two, Texas came into the Big House and ran up and down the field on them, holding the Wolverines to one touchdown late in garbage time. This past Saturday, Arkansas State came to town, and Michigan only won by 10 points, 28-18.

Michigan quarterback Davis Warren (16) warms up before the Indiana game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023.

The game’s biggest story was Michigan’s starting quarterback, Davis Warren, who threw three interceptions and was benched for backup Alex Orji.

Warren and Orji had a quarterback competition in camp this offseason, with Warren winning the job, but after three weeks as the starter , Michigan made a move.

Head coach Sherrone Moore stated on Monday that the team would be starting Alex Orji this week against USC.

Michigan quarterback Alex Orji (10) is tackled by Fresno State defensive back Al’zillion Hamilton (3) during the second half at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024.

Orji is a better runner than Warren but not a better football thrower, so the Wolverines will be running the ball a lot this weekend.

Michigan has to beat USC, or its season could very well be over. They already lost to Texas, and losing to USC would put Michigan behind in the Big Ten. They will still have to play Oregon and Ohio State.

Many Michigan fans took to social media to react to the move, and here are some of their thoughts.

So a heavy running game on Saturday. Got it.

Good. Now Mullings needs to be RB1

    Need it! Go Blue!

Game plan: Run because the QB still can’t throw.
