The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is just a few weeks away. Prospects will get another chance to impress teams before the draft weekend kicks off. The event is by invite only and nine Michigan Wolverines got the invite. Here are all the Wolverines that will be showing off their skills in the upcoming combine.
Michigan Wolverines: 2023 NFL Scouting Combine
The Wolverines bring nine players to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. They are on all sides of the ball. Offense, defense, and special teams are all well-represented. Onto the prospects!
Ronnie Bell WR
Bell will benefit from the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. Michigan’s offense is focused on the run. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards running behind the offensive line tore up the Big Ten. This meant the Wolverines’ passing offense took a back seat. The combine will be a chance for Bell to show his potential to NFL teams.
Ryan Hayes OL
Teams can always use offensive line help. The issue is often standing out in a room full of linemen. Hayes was a part of the best line in college football last year. If he can impress at the combine, he might find himself being picked up in the late first round.
Jake Moody K

It may seem odd to be excited about a kicker in the draft but Jake Moody is the premier talent. The Michigan special teams unit was loaded this past year and Moody was a big reason. This past season he went 29/35 on field goals and a perfect 60/60 in extra points. He will obviously be a day-three pick but some team will hopefully get their kicker for the next twenty years in Moody. This will be his chance to show the scouts what he’s got.
Mike Morris DL
The edge position is very deep in this draft. Morris was a dominant force for the Wolverines throughout the year. He had 11 tackles for loss with 7.5 sacks. Morris was a constant force for the Wolverines’ defense. The combine will allow him to show why is a premiere edge rusher in this class.
Olu Oluwatimi OL

Michigan has had success with linemen in the NFL in the past. This year should be no different. Oluwatimi was a part of the best offensive line in college football. He had a bit of a rough Senior Bowl practice and can use the combine to restore some value.
Brad Robbins P

Robbins is a part of the stacked special teams unit. If you do not think punters are important, talk to any team that has a bad one. Robbins won’t be picked until day 3 but he is one of the premier talents and will get an opportunity to show what he’s got.
Luke Schoonmaker TE
Schoonmaker is not talked about when people mention the tight end position in the NFL draft. Some of this is due to his limited usage as the Michigan Wolverines ran the ball a lot. However, Schoonmaker could be a great pickup for a team needing a tight end. Similar to Bell, the combine is his chance to show off what he can do to teams.
Mazi Smith DL

Smith is a freak of an athlete. His raw talent is unmatched. A man his size is not supposed to move as he does. The combine will give him a chance to showcase that athleticism. If his measurables are off the charts, he could sneak into a higher round to a team that simply cannot resist.
DJ Tuner II DB
Turner is a good prospect but his stats do not jump off the page. He did have 10 passes deflected this season and a fumble returned for a touchdown but otherwise did not do much of note. The combine is a chance for him to showcase that he can be an NFL corner.
