Michigan played musical chairs at quarterbacks this season, going from Davis Warren to Alex Orji to Jack Tuttle back to Warren because they never wanted to go into the transfer portal this past offseason, but that seems to be changing in 2025.
The Wolverines are bringing in the number-one quarterback in the 2025 class, Bryce Underwood. However, he will most likely need a season to learn the college game, so the program will look to find their starter through the portal. One name that has been thrown out is a former Big Ten quarterback.
Michigan Could Target A Former Big Ten Star

According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, Moss “is expected to look at Michigan, Auburn, Iowa, and Louisville” when he officially enters the transfer portal.
Moss started for USC this season before being benched after nine starts. He threw for 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions, but his play wasn’t the reason the Trojans were horrible.
USC had a lot of issues on both sides of the ball, and benching Moss was the only thing the team could do to try and spark a run.

It will be interesting to see what Michigan decides to do about adding a transfer quarterback. Even though Underwood is coming in this offseason, they must find a quarterback from the outside.
The best thing for Michigan would be to add a player like Moss, and Underwood, would come in and take the job because of how great he was playing in camp.
The Wolverines don’t want to be in a situation where they have to play Underwood immediately if he’s not ready, setting him back a season or two.
