Michigan pulled off a great upset against USC last week, and they did it in a way that shouldn’t be possible, only throwing for 32 yards.
It is hard to beat one of the best teams in the country by only running the ball, but Michigan’s new quarterback, Alex Orji, found a way to do it.
Michigan Gets Star Player Back
The passing game should improve over the next few weeks. Last week, they were down their best receiver, tight end Colson Loveland.
Loveland is the best playmaker on the team, and when the NFL Draft rolls around next April, he will hear his name in the Top 15 picks.
The star tight-end is the heart and soul of the offense, and the Wolverines got some great news right before kickoff against Minnesota.
Loveland was not on the Michigan injury report and is expected to play this weekend.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is not expected to play against Mississippi State today, per ESPN sources. A final decision will be made later in the day, as Ewers is nearly 70-percent and the coaching staff is prioritizing full health for Oklahoma. https://t.co/tBlT9HkTPA

Getting Loveland back is great news for a Michigan team that needs help finding their identity in the passing game. The Wolverines will have a hard time throwing the ball this season, but Loveland can come in and settle the offense down and pick up big third and fourth downs.
