Michigan had a memorable season last year, going 15-0 and winning the title. A lot of that was due to their amazing quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, who was picked in the first round of the NFL Draft this past April.
The quarterback position has been shaky this year. The Wolverines started the season playing Davis Warren, then benched him for Alex Orji this past week.
Orji only threw for 32 yards in their big upset win against USC on Saturday, and the only thing that matters is the win, but Michigan is going to have huge issues at the quarterback position this season; one former Michigan alumni is not happy with the quarterback situation and pledged millions of dollars to help fix it.
Dave Portnoy Wants To Fix Michigan’s Quarterback Situation
One of the biggest Michigan fans in the world, and Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy, stated he would give NIL money for the Wolverines to have a Top Ten quarterback every year.
Portnoy said he would sign them for millions and whatever it takes to land the player. Michigan’s program is broken if it needs a fan to spend their own money to land a star quarterback.
I will go out and get Michigan a top 10 QB every year with NIL #GoBlue

Michigan clearly had no plan for a quarterback this season and trusted every quarterback on their roster to compete for the starting job and have a great season, so they didn’t go into the transfer portal, and it clearly didn’t work.
The Wolverines still have a good team, but the lack of good quarterback play will make them beatable against every team they play the rest of the season.
Michigan can beat anybody on its schedule, but it could also lose to anybody on its schedule, so it will be interesting to see what team shows up week in and week out.
