BREAKING: Los Angeles Rams 2012 1st-Round Pick, Star Player Announces Retirement

A former Los Angeles Rams star defender is stepping away from football after over a decade in the league. The move came after a season of inactivity for the 33-year-old.

Per a statement on Michael Brockers’ Instagram account, the Rams No. 14 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft announced his intention to retire:

I want to personally thank the Rams and Lions organizations for taking the risk on me to represent their teams. I want to also thank My Teammates and Coaches for making me the player I was. T

The Rams traded Brockers to the Detroit Lions in 2021

The star defensive tackle played for the Rams through the 2020 season. In March of 2021, the Rams traded Brockers to the Detroit Lions for a seventh-round pick. He played with the Lions for two seasons before they released him in February of 2023.

Brockers did not sign with another team for the 2023 season.

Brockers played in 160 games and started in 157 during his career. He recorded 451 tackles, 29 sacks, 52 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles.
