Former Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is already warming himself up with his new team, and it seems that his former home at Texas may have also moved past the blockbuster trade.
In a recent interview, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus gave his honest opinion on how the exit of their former star linebacker impacted their outlook for the 2025 regular season. According to the team’s DC, the Cowboys will do well on their defense with what they currently have in their roster.

“Congratulations to Micah,” Eberflus told the press. “We wish him the best. We’re gonna focus on us. Obviously a really good player. We have a lot of good rushers in the D-line room. Certainly, we’ll generate with that and other things too.”

Last week, the Green Bay Packers made a significant move by acquiring three-time All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys. The transaction involved Green Bay dispatching a 2025 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round selection, and a conditional 2027 third-rounder to Dallas in exchange for Parsons.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst called it “an opportunity to add a generational talent” to a defense that ranked 20th against the run last season, while Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed confidence that the windfall of picks will help Dallas reload on both sides of the ball.
Micah Parsons May Need Injection for Crucial Injury
Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons is contending with a lingering back injury ahead of Sunday’s opener against the Detroit Lions and may turn to an epidural injection if necessary to ease the pain. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Parsons has been managing an L4/L5 facet joint sprain and could receive the injection on game day to ensure he can take the field.

Before his blockbuster trade from the Dallas Cowboys last week, Parsons followed a five-day anti-inflammatory regimen that included prednisone and a structured physical therapy plan to address the back tightness. After seeking a second medical opinion during training camp, the three-time All-Pro has resumed limited practice this week, though his availability for the season opener remains uncertain.
While there are treatments and preventative strategies in place, Micah Parsons is ready to wear the Green and Gold and will likely do so against a division rival. A league source indicated that if Parsons feels like he can play, he will play – a clear indication regarding the importance of Parsons to the Packers defensive front. Updates about Parsons’ status should be released as the game approaches, with the hope that the Packers’ new defensive centerpiece will be cleared for action.
