Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons dropped a simple reaction to the news of his teammate, tight end Jake Ferguson, getting a contract extension from the team.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson’s contract extension has been met with positive reactions from his teammate Micah Parsons. Parsons congratulated Ferguson on social media, highlighting his continued importance to Dallas’ offensive strategy.
Parsons shared the post celebrating the extension Ferguson got from the team, and he added a caption to show his reaction.
“Baby lion,” Parsons wrote.
Jake Ferguson, the Cowboys’ tight end, signed a four-year, $52 million extension through 2028, with $30 million guaranteed ($12 million upon signing).
Ferguson’s agent, Jack Bechta, was at the helm for negotiations, and noted Dallas’ interest in keeping its contributing pass catcher at the heart of an offense that was among the league’s most explosive a year ago.
Ferguson, who was drafted in the fourth round in 2022, has grown to be one of Dak Prescott’s most trusted targets.

There has been a good deal of chatter among fans and analysts suggesting Dallas seems intent on prioritizing its emerging tight end, as opposed to using the available cap space on the four-time Pro Bowler, whose only public comments about the Cowboys have done little to disguise his frustration over the stalled negotiations.
Cowboys Owner Downplays Micah Parsons Fan Chant
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was involved in “Pay Micah!” chants during the opening training camp Saturday, as a crowd of fans called for a swift contract extension for Pro Bowl linebacker Micah Parsons.

Jones did not condone Parsons’s stalled negotiations directly but used the microphone to showcase the franchise’s overall array of roster additions emphasis not wanting to single out any one player, considering a number of acquisitions in the offseason.
“I was shocked last year when we ended up with the record that we had,” Jones said. “I never saw that coming. . . . I want you to watch what we’ve done in the areas that we needed to work on. Look at what we’ve done in this offensive line. Look at what we’ve done, if you will, with our receiver core. Look at what we’re doing with our defense.”
Jones’s detour around the chants and emphasis on collective progress has done little to dampen fan frustration, leaving the two-time All-Pro’s contract saga as one of training camp’s defining storylines.

Despite Micah Parsons’s undeniable impact—52.5 sacks across his first four NFL seasons and a reputation as one of the league’s premier pass rushers—the linebacker remains on his fifth-year option with no long-term deal in hand.
