Micah Parsons, defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys, has yet to receive any major updates regarding his contract extension, which has left both fans and analysts irate for the last couple of months. However, those who know the workings of Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones’ mind know only too well that the best is yet to come.

Jones has been known in the past to be pretty dramatic while handing out contracts and extensions to his players, even those whom he knows his team cannot live without. The same went for starting quarterback Dak Prescott, who was handed a massive extension a few hours before the 2024 NFL season could kick off for the Dallas Cowboys. Renowned sports analyst Chris Broussard spent some time on ‘First Things First’ on Thursday, talking about exactly this.
“I was long ago saying Jerry Jones was about entertainment. Jerry Jones (is) about creating drama that entertains the masses, that puts the Cowboys on television and raises the value of the franchise. He might be fine with this because as you said, he hasn’t been cheap in paying guys when it’s time.” Chris Broussard discussed Jerry Jones’ love for theatrics and him possibly giving Micah Parsons a worthy contract extension soon.
Micah Parsons’ contract extension talks with Jerry Jones have been going on for quite some time now, making news even before the draft. Parsons even managed to have several one-on-one chats with Jones in the absence of his agent, which brought out plenty of criticism from the public. Despite not receiving an extension, Parsons showed up to training and workouts with his team, showing his commitment to the future of the Cowboys.

Micah Parsons Shows Frustration On Undertaker’s Podcast
On a similar note, the man himself, Micah Parsons, spoke out about his frustration on not receiving a contract extension yet in his latest appearance on the ‘ Six Feet Under’ podcast with WWE’s Undertaker. Parsons did admit that he expected his contract to come in last year itself. However, the Cowboys seem to be nowhere near concluding the extension and giving the linebacker the deal he deserves.

Parsons seemed to blame it on the ownership, i.e. Jerry Jones, and the lack of communication. Furthermore, the defensive end remarked that the team is simply making things a lot more complicated than it needs to be. The linebacker also commented that by delaying the extension, the Cowboys will end up spending a lot more money.
