Micah Parsons planted his left foot awkwardly in the third quarter Sunday while chasing Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

The Green Bay Packers star immediately grabbed his knee and collapsed to the turf. Players from both teams took a knee around him as trainers rushed onto the field.
An MRI on Monday confirmed the worst possible outcome. Parsons suffered a torn ACL that will end his season and require at least nine months of recovery.
“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated. This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony,” Parsons wrote on X Monday afternoon after receiving the diagnosis.

“I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it. I’m deeply grateful to the Packers organization and my teammates for their unwavering support, love, and belief in me during this season,” he continued in his emotional message.
Parsons’ first season with the Packers will end with 12.5 sacks, making him the first player in NFL history with at least 12 sacks in each of his first five NFL seasons. He led Green Bay with those sacks, accounting for more than one-third of the team’s 33 total.
NFL fans mock Micah Parsons’ message and criticize his performance
Social media reactions to Parsons’ inspirational post ranged from sarcastic jokes to harsh criticism of his decision to leave Dallas.
“Thank you Jerry for fleecing them Hoes,” one Cowboys fan wrote gleefully, celebrating that Dallas received two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark in the trade.
A second commenter referenced ESPN analyst Ryan Clark’s controversial take from earlier in the day. “According to Ryan Clark, you injured yourself because you were trying so hard to catch Bo Nix,” they wrote, highlighting Clark’s claim that Nix’s elusiveness caused the injury.
Others dismissed Parsons’ situation entirely. “you don’t care you got paid,” one user stated coldly, referencing his four-year, $188 million extension with Green Bay.
A Cowboys fan delivered the harshest attack. “You are both sidelined and defeated. Demarcus Lawrence is your daddy,” they wrote, celebrating his injury while defending his former Dallas teammate.
Some criticized his reference to God in the recovery message. “It’s funny how people find ways to justify a tragedy with ‘God,'” a fifth commenter posted, questioning his faith-based perspective on the injury.
The injury devastates Green Bay’s Super Bowl hopes with three regular-season games remaining. Parsons faces a recovery timeline that could threaten his availability for the start of the 2026 season.
