Micah Parsons, linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, was definitely not happy with team owner Jerry Jones’ comments on his contract extension. Parsons spoke to reporters during the ongoing training camp with the Cowboys and seemed to condemn Jones’ comments that giving him a big contract would mean taking a huge risk since he might not play all the games in the season.

In the 2024 NFL season, Parsons missed around four games as a result of an ankle injury. However, Jerry Jones remarked that the linebacker actually missed six games for the team. Still, Jones did not seem too convinced in the positives of doling out a big and juicy contract for Micah Parsons.
“I want to be here. At the end of the day, they sign the checks. Let’s see if they want me to be here… I’m doing this for myself and my teammates. This isn’t for Jerry.” Micah Parsons said about Jerry Jones’ comments in a recent conversation with reporters.

Micah Parsons was also asked about what he thought about Jerry Jones’ comments, and the linebacker immediately remarked that he would definitely have a word with the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. The defensive end also boldly stated that he aims to play for none other than his teammates and not Jerry Jones.

Micah Parsons did miss the OTAs as a result of his ongoing contract extension negotiations. However, he did turn up for the minicamp to show his commitment to the Dallas Cowboys. Parsons is also participating in the training camp and has shown much zest in proving himself as a worthy player.
Micah Parsons Comments By Jerry Jones Trolled By Analysts And Fans
Meanwhile, the comments on Micah Parsons by Dallas Cowboys team owner, Jerry Jones, have been condemned severely by both NFL analysts and fans on social media. The comments section has been going ballistic ever since Jones made those statements, with most fans remarking that Parsons’ position is too important for the team owner to make light of.

Micah Parsons is perhaps the most important player for the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to defense. Parsons has been with the Cowboys since the 2021 season, and managed a total of 30 solo tackles for the team in the previous season, despite missing four games because of his ankle injury. If Parsons does indeed get an extension before the football year starts, Dallas’ defense will be in safe hands.
