Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys linebacker, was one of the many who reacted to Anthony Barr’s retirement announcement. Barr and Parsons were not teammates for a long time, but played together for one season when the now-retired linebacker was part of the Cowboys roster.

Barr did not play at all in the previous NFL season and the player has decided that it was time to say goodbye to his beloved game. Parsons and Barr managed to share one season together, and it seems like their friendship is closely bonded. Parsons re-shared Barr’s retirement message on his Instagram and added a caption that closely encapsulates their relationship.
“10 years in the NFL…what a blessing. I’m incredibly thankful and deeply humbled by the journey this game has taken me on. From Pop Warner, the Loyola Cubs, the UCLA Bruins, the Minnesota Vikings, the Dallas Cowboys and finally back to the Viking – what an unforgettable ride it’s been.” Anthony Barr wrote in his Instagram post.
“Congrats king @anandhonybarr,” Micah Parsons captioned his Instagram post for Anthony Barr’s retirement.

While Anthony Barr has said goodbye to the sport with all its drama, things are still not smooth for Micah Parsons. Parsons put in a trade request from the Dallas Cowboys recently and is still looking for a new home for the upcoming season. Micah Parsons and the Cowboys were unable to reach a conclusion regarding his contract extension and the linebacker publicly announced that he fully intends on leaving the team.
Micah Parsons’ Contract May Take Time According To Jerry Jones
On another note, Micah Parsons’ soon-to-be former team owner, Jerry Jones, recently sat down for an interview with USA Today, where he was quizzed about the timeline of the linebacker’s contract extension negotiations. Jones was asked curiously as to why it has taken so long to get back to Parsons with a solid deal, and the businessman did not hold back.
“It took a long time with Emmitt Smith. Same thing with Martin two years ago, Lamb last year.” Jerry Jones responded.

Jones also seemed to pin the blame on Micah Parsons as he remarked that it is because of players’ responses that contract extensions take so long to materialize. Jones definitely did not seem too disappointed to see Micah Parsons traded away and it looks like some other lucky team will happily pick him up soon enough.
