Micah Parsons’ contract should be extended by the Dallas Cowboys, according to former NFL wide receiver James Jones. Jones said exactly this on ‘The Facility’ on Fox Sports on Thursday, reaffirming that the Dallas Cowboys had one of the best players in the league, and they should pay him up and make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Micah Parsons has been playing for the Dallas Cowboys since 2021 after being selected by the team as the 12th pick of the very first round in the NFL draft. Before the NFL, Parsons played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2018 to 2020. In his very first season with the NFL, Parsons won the ‘NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year’ title.
“Don’t overthink this. You got one of the best players in the world… Do not be stupid. Do not make a mistake. Pay Micah Parsons. He gets you closer to the Super Bowl. He is your quarterback on the defense. He wrecks games. He helps everybody else on the defense because he demands a lot of attention. Do not overthink this. Make the game easy. Make paying Micah Parsons easy. Make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the National Football League yesterday because he has earned it.” James Jones said on ‘The Facility’ on Thursday.

Micah Parsons’ contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys is all that everyone can talk about. Dallas’ owner, Jerry Jones, also shed light on this. Jerry Jones has been apparently having discussions with Parsons about an extension on his contract over the last few weeks but has not come up with any solid solution so far.

Micah Parsons’ Contract Negotiations Might Have Broken NFL Rules
Micah Parsons has been in direct communication with Dallas Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, over the last few weeks, where the two have spent about five to six hours in total according to Jones himself. While this open-door policy may seem great, the conversations happened without the presence of Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, and this is in direct violation of NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement rules.

According to the CBA rules, negotiations about deals and contracts should only be held with the player’s sports agent involved. However, Jerry Jones has always been known to move along to his own music and goes by his rules with his players. In the past, Jones has managed to negotiate deals with numerous players without their agents present, justifying his stance with Parsons as well. Time will only tell how the entire thing plays out.
