Miami Hurricanes: Star Offensive Weapon Won’t Work Out at Combine

The NFL Scouting Combine begins on Wednesday, February 26, and runs through Sunday, March 2. Kickers, punters, and long snappers work out on Wednesday; defensive linemen and linebackers on Thursday; defensive backs and tight ends on Friday; quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers on Saturday; and offensive linemen on Sunday.

Highlighting one of the 329 invited prospects is Miami Hurricanes‘ star tight end Elijah Arroyo.

Elijah Arroyo suffered a knee injury at some point during the Senior Bowl, but that did not prevent him from participating and standing out on the football field. Arroyo does have a concern with knee injuries dating back to the 2022 season. He suffered a season-ending torn left ACL in Week 4, causing him to miss their final eight games in 2022 and the first five in 2023 because of a setback, but he only appeared in four contests that year.

The star tight end played every game during his redshirt junior season and broke out, boasting career-highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He caught 35 passes for 590 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games, earning himself an All-ACC Second-Team selection.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Elijah Arroyo will not work out at the combine because of the knee injury he sustained at the Senior Bowl. However, the knee injury isn’t believed to be serious since Arroyo is expected to participate in Miami’s Pro Day on Monday, March 24.
