The Miami Hurricanes are one of eight undefeated teams remaining in college football. The Miami Hurricanes are just one of three teams in the top ten of the AP Poll with an undefeated record. From 5-7 to 7-6, Miami is a perfect 8-0 in year three of the Mario Cristobal era while on the fast track for their first College Football Playoff berth in program history. On their eight-game winning streak, the Hurricanes have vanquished ACC foes Virginia Tech, California, Lousiville, and Florida State while beating inter-state rival Florida on opening weekend.
However, despite avoiding a blemish on their record, Miami has needed Herculean efforts from quarterback Cam Ward to narrowly skirt losses from Cal, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. Although many top teams have played close games this season, fans put the Hurricanes in their crosshairs with their No. 2 placement on the ESPN FPI rankings.
College Football Fans Blast Miami Hurricanes
According to College Football Report on Twitter:
Best Resumes in College Football, per ESPN FPI: (SOR)
1. Georgia
2. Miami
3. BYU
4. Oregon
5. Penn St
6. Iowa St
7. Texas A&M
8. Pitt
9. K-State
10. Indiana
Per ESPN’s Football Power Index, which measures team strength on a forward basis, the Miami Hurricanes slotted as the second-best team in the country, trailing only the Georgia football program. Miami is a perfect 8-0 this season, with highlight wins against Virginia Tech, Florida, and Louisville, although two are coming by one score. Miami will have a tough home contest this weekend, facing the 6-2 Duke Blue Devils. They will also travel and face the Syracuse Orange in their regular season finale before likely heading to the ACC title to battle with current fellow undefeated Pittsburgh.
With Miami playing in the ACC and lacking a win over a ranked team, many college football fans struggle to understand their near-top placement in the ESPN FPI. Many of those same fans believe teams from the SEC and Big 12 should have a better future outlook even if they have one or two losses:

The Miami Hurricanes are only doing what they should be doing beating these teams , I bet it would be ok if they lost to an unranked team that would make you feel good
I agree. They can only play who is in front of them.
