The Miami Hurricanes are amid their best season since 2017. However, with two more wins, Miami will reach 11 victories for the first time since winning the Orange Bowl in 2003. Last season, the Hurricanes went just 7-6, but the addition of Washington State Cougars transfer quarterback Cam Ward has revolutionized the team’s offense. Leading Miami to a 9-1 record, Ward leads the ACC in passing yards, passing touchdowns, air yards per attempt, and rating.
Ward remains one of the front runners for the 2024 Heisman Trophy Award. A third straight standout season, paired with increased production, Ward is not only a Heisman candidate but one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft. According to one prominent media outlet, Ward will be the first quarterback off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft and the second overall selection.
33rd Team Calls For Cam Ward Landing With NFC East Club
According to The 33rd Team on Twitter:
Cam Ward lands in New York in our latest mock draft.
Per the 33rd Team, Cam Ward will be the first quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, ushering in a new era with the New York Giants. Ward’s selection to New York would likely spell the end for current starting quarterback Daniel Jones, with the latter throwing only ten touchdowns in his last 16 games. The Giants are 3-13 during that span. They can also move on from Jones and his hefty contract this offseason.
A former zero-star recruit in the class of 2020, Ward landed with Incarnate Word, winning the Jerry Rice Award as a freshman, an honor given to the best FCS first-year player. Ward transferred to Washington State in 2022, throwing for 48 touchdowns against 16 picks in two seasons before transferring again to the Miami Hurricanes. This season, Ward is the FBS leader in passing yards and touchdowns. Through ten games, Ward has collected 3,494 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and six picks. He has completed 67% of his passes while rushing for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
