The Miami Dolphins and NFL fans everywhere were shocked this morning by a report that All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill had been arrested at Hard Rock Stadium. According to reports, he is accused of committing a traffic violation and then got into a verbal dispute with police officers.
After his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and other Dolphins personnel intervened, he was released and will be active for Miami’s game today against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That being said, a recent video posted on social media has revealed that police officers may have struck Hill while he was being arrested.
Video Posted Online Allegedly Shows Police Officers Hitting Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill
Because Hill’s arrest happened outside of the stadium, where tens of thousands of fans are also present, there was plenty of video footage of the incident. One of these videos showed police allegedly hitting the All-Pro wide receiver:

As one can see, it appears as if Hill gets struck by an officer while he is in handcuffs on the sidewalk. However, the full view of the alleged incident is blocked by some cars.
Hill has not released a statement yet as he is currently playing.
The Miami Police Department Released a Statement Regarding Tyreek Hill
After Hill was released, the Miami Police Department released the following statement:
“We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers. I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage. We will provide updates as further information becomes available.”
If the officer did strike Hill, hopefully the police department takes the proper measures in ensuring that he is met with the consequences of his actions.
This certainly seems to have become a much bigger deal than it should have been considering Hill’s transgression was a traffic violation.
