The Miami Dolphins as an organization have released a statement regarding the incident involving star wide receiver Tyreek Hill and the Miami-Dade County Police.
On his way to the first game of the 2024 season, Hill was pulled over and detained by police for a driving violation. Released bodycam footage has sparked outrage across social media, forcing the Dolphins to release a statement on the situation.
The Dolphins came out in full support of Tyreek Hill
Despite a relationship with the Miami-Dade County police, the Dolphins organization came out in full support of Tyreek Hill with their official statement.
The Dolphins referred to the police in the situation as “overly aggressive and violent.” Miami also called for “swift and strong action” against the officers involved in the situations, calling the behavior of the officers “despicable.”

According to the Director of Miami-Dade County police in an article from US Magazine, an officer involved in the situation was immediately placed on administrative leave following the incident.
“Following the incident involving Tyreek Hill, I have initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter,” Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie V. Daniels said in a Sunday, September 8 statement. “One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is conducted.”
Videos from people around the situation came out as the situation was occurring, but the bodycam footage released a day later sparked a whole different level of controversy.

Many fans said the police involved were on a “power trip,” while others think Hill’s “uncooperative” nature resulted in the escalation of the situation.
Tyreek literally handed him his license and registration, and the cops got upset he wouldn’t roll his window all the way down, wh8ch by law he doesn’t have to do. They should all be fired

As one of the few lawyers in this country who has tried federal civil rights cases in federal court, this IS a civil rights violation. The first officer was within the the bounds of the law. The second officer broke policies, rules and rights.
The police union is the most…
