The Miami Dolphins clear some cap with Bradley Chubb’s contract
The Miami Dolphins needed clear some cap space ahead of the 2023 free agency period next week. The Dolphins have a few pricey contracts on their roster, including wide receiver Tyreek Hill and linebacker Bradley Chubb. The Dolphins were able to restructure Chubb’s contract to clear some space.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Dolphins cleared $14.656 million for Chubb’s contract.
A bunch of salary conversions filed overnight to clear 2023 cap space: #Chargers WRs Keenan Allen (cleared $8.9 million) and Mike Williams (cleared $5.46M)#Dolphins edge Bradley Chubb (cleared $14.656M)#Panthers OT Taylor Moton (cleared $11M)

According to over the cap, the Dolphins are currently over $700,000 in the red before the free agency period. The Dolphins made good use of their spending last season as the team made the playoffs. They could have made a longer playoff run had quarterback Tua Tagovailoa not been injured at the end of last season. The Dolphins need a few more pieces and a healthy quarterback in order to have a team that can battle to win the AFC.
