The Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey have mutually agreed to seek a trade in April for contractual reasons. However, the team had to wait until after June 1 to move him, allowing his $49.448 million in dead money to be spread into the 2026 offseason rather than accelerating into the 2025 offseason and losing $8.552 million in cap space. The Dolphins failed to trade him during mandatory minicamp, and many wondered whether a deal would be in place once training camp begins in late July.
Miami Dolphins agreed to a trade with an AFC North foe

The Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to a blockbuster trade involving three players and two draft picks. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Steelers acquired Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-round pick, and the Dolphins received Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
Full trade terms per me and @RapSheet:

Miami Dolphins’ former RB reacts to blockbuster trade

Raheem Mostert spent the last three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, where he rushed for 2,181 yards and 23 touchdowns, including a Pro Bowl selection in 2023. Unfortunately, the front office released him this offseason, later signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. Mostert didn’t hold back in his response to the Jalen Ramsey trade, criticizing the front office for treating Pro Bowlers poorly.
Hot take: Be a Pro-bowler on the Dolphins, get treated like sh*t. Happy for my guys though! GO BALL OUT!! https://t.co/RyDBVE8h1i

No arguing here, but crazy how the Dolphins are voted each year as the best franchise to play for by the players. Where’s the disconnect? What’s the fix?
