The Miami Dolphins are in quarterback trouble after starter Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. With Tagovailoa likely to miss significant time and retire from football, the Dolphins will likely be looking to add another quarterback to try and push for a playoff spot this season. One name that could be a good fit for Miami has come to light, as this Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback might be out of a starting job on his current team.
Miami Dolphins Connected to Steelers QB
The Dolphins have been urged by NFL fans and analysts to sign Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson to add a veteran presence under center. Wilson has not been the best player in recent years since leaving the Seattle Seahawks in 2022. However, many have not given up hope that he can still succeed in the league.
Rex Ryan said on @GetUpESPN today that the @MiamiDolphins might consider trading for Russell Wilson with Tua Tagovailoa out due to a concussion. What would you give up for Wilson if you were Miami and should the @Steelers move him? #GoFins #HereWeGo pic.twitter.com/78NThMpenF

Why Wilson Could be a Good Fit For Miami
With a ‘Win Now’ mentality, Miami would need to bring in a veteran quarterback like Wilson in the likely event that Tagovailoa will not see the field again this season. Wilson has a ton of experience under his belt, and giving him weapons like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to throw to could be the reason he surges once again.
The veteran quarterback has amounted to 43,653 passing yards and 334 touchdowns overall since being drafted by Seattle in 2012. After being with the Seahawks for 10 years, Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos, where he never was able to get anything good going, largely due to the fact that he had a lack of good receivers and a decent offensive line to protect him.
Will the Dolphins Make a Call?
While no reports have come out about the Dolphins being interested in Wilson, it would not be a surprise if they did give him a call given his situation in Pittsburgh being the backup to Justin Fields. Do you think Miami will try to sign Wilson, or will they decide to go a different direction?
