The Miami Dolphins have arrived in Seattle to take on the Seahawks for their Week Three game of the 2024 NFL regular season. Unfortunately, the Dolphins will have to take on Seattle and their next several opponents without their star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.
In Miami’s Week Two game, a blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills, Tagovailoa suffered a terrible concussion while scrambling for a first down. The Dolphins star quarterback, who signed a $212.4 million contract at the start of training camp, lowered his head into Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
Earlier this week, Miami put Tagovailoa on injured reserve, which means that he will be out for at least four weeks. However, they have not put a timetable on when he will return to the field.
The Miami Dolphins Traded for a Former Pro Bowl Quarterback Tyler Huntley

With Tagovailoa out for at least the foreseeable future, the Dolphins signed former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley off of the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.
Huntley was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022, though his selection could be used as an argument for why the honor does not hold much meaning anymore. That year, he played in six games (four starts), completed 67.0% of his passes for 658 yards, had two touchdowns and three interceptions, and achieved a passer rating of 77.2.
After signing Huntley, Miami made it clear that he was going to serve as Thompson’s backup. He will not be their starting quarterback, at least for now.
This makes sense as he has to learn the offense first before he can be relied upon to try winning games.
The fact of the matter, though, is that the Dolphins have serious questions at quarterback with Tagovailoa.
The Miami Dolphins Sign Former Green Bay Packers Backup Quarterback Tim Boyle

With so many questions surrounding the position, the Dolphins decided to sign Tim Boyle to their 53-man roster. He had been signed by Miami in late August following his release by the Houston Texans. Boyle has been on the Dolphins practice squad ever since.

Boyle is a former undrafted free agent who served as Aaron Rodgers‘ backup quarterback with the Green Bay Packers from 2019-2020. When the Packers decided to promote Jordan Love to be Rodgers’ backup in 2021, Boyle was released.
He spent the 2021 season with the Detroit Lions and 2022 with the Chicago Bears.
Last season, Boyle was reunited with Rodgers on the New York Jets and even started a couple of games with the future Hall of Famer sidelined with a torn Achilles. He was released, though, midseason and finished the year with the Texans.
For his career, Boyle has a 62.3% completion percentage, 934 yards, four touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a passer rating of 55.2.
