Unlike before, athletes are now becoming recognizable figures in the world of fashion, like Houston Texans’ Stefon Diggs and New York Jets’ Tyrod Taylor. Along with those two NFL stars, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is also turning heads around for his unique sense of fashion outside the field.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Beckham played college football at LSU, where he gained recognition for his exceptional skills. He was then selected by the New York Giants as the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
In his rookie season, Beckham quickly became a standout player, breaking multiple NFL records despite missing the first four games due to an injury. His spectacular one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 garnered widespread acclaim, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most talented receivers. He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Beckham continued to excel in his subsequent seasons, earning three Pro Bowl selections and being named a second-team All-Pro twice. After a successful stint with the Giants, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019. His time there included a notable performance in 2020, where he had impressive statistics before suffering a torn ACL, which ended his season early.
Later, he joined the Los Angeles Rams, contributing to their Super Bowl LVI victory before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. For the upcoming season, the wide receiver will start the campaign playing for the Miami Dolphins. However, a recent injury will cause him to miss the first four games with his new team.
Miami Dolphins’ Odell Beckham Jr. Named Fourth Best-Dressed Athlete Today
Apart from making an impact on the field, Beckham has been making a name for himself outside of it. In an article written by Mike Destefano for Complex, the Dolphins star has been included in a list of best-dressed athletes today.
“When Odell Beckham Jr. entered the NFL in 2014, he was almost immediately recognized as one of the league’s best-dressed individuals. A decade later, not much has changed. When OBJ isn’t one of the few athletes attending the Met Gala, he still makes sure to step out in photo-worthy fits. That embellished Miu Miu work jacket lives rent-free in our minds. Some days, it’s head-to-toe leather looks from Chrome Hearts.
Other times, he’ll pair a paisley Kapital puffer vest with polka-dot cargo pants from Yayoi Kusama’s Louis Vuitton collection. The combinations may not always make intuitive sense, but somehow they work well on him. What’s most impressive about OBJ’s style is that, as loud as his pieces are, they don’t overpower him. We can’t wait to see what looks OBJ cooks up in Miami this season. Maybe he’ll break out that orange Richard Mille again,” Destefano wrote.
Throughout his career, Beckham has achieved significant accolades, including being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. He has also earned multiple Pro Bowl selections and holds numerous franchise and league records.
Although he is injured as of the moment, Beckham continues to make waves outside the football field. Expect the wide receiver to leave his mark in Miami when he comes back to health in the coming weeks.
