The Miami Dolphins find themselves in quite a tough situation after their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was sent to the IR and will miss an extended period of time due to a concussion.
The team was awful offensively last week with two different quarterbacks so they are making a change.
Miami Dolphins Make Change At Quarterback
The team is in desperate need this week for a win after dropping their lost two games straight if they have hopes of still making the postseason. Their season changed drastically when Tua went down, as now their entire offense has not been humming as usual, in fact, it’s been just the opposite.
Skylar Thompson came in for their injured quarterback and was not good, to say the least against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Thompson also sustained an injury in that game that knocked him out. With the team in desperate need of a new quarterback, they signed a former Pro Bowler who will now play for the team.
In this huge Monday night matchup against the Tennessee Titans, the Dolphins will turn to former Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley to get the job done.
Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Miami’s coach Mike McDaniel has said that Huntley will get the starting job this Monday night, and Miami fans are very happy about that. Their season is not over, as Tua is making plans to return, and they desperately need these wins against bad teams while Tua is out.
What Does Tyler Huntley Bring to The Table?
This will be the second time that Huntley has fille din for a top quarterback, as he did for Lamar Jackson in 2022 and he was solid. The Dolphins brought him in shortly after Tua’s injury, and there were plans to get him in the lineup as they knew their other backups were not up to par.
Huntley made the Pro Bowl in 2022 after Josh Allen had to back out, and he brings a much better presence to their team than the others who played for them on Sunday. Huntley will also bring all their fantasy players back up to standard, as their other quarterbacks were unable to get their top receivers and running backs going at all.

If they suffer this loss against the Titans, the season will lose bleak to salvage at 1-3. Miami has to compete with both the Jets and the Bills in their division and a stacked AFC conference as a whole. If they can get this win and go to 2-2 their entire outlook on the season will look different.
While the team is not sure when they will get Tua back, Huntley will need to be their savior if they have any chance of making the post-season this year. If they lose this game, it may be time to hit the panic button in Miami.
