The Miami Dolphins received a massive boost with the return of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Following five straight games of scoring under 12 points, Tagovailoa’s presence boosted Miami’s offensive production, with the AFC East squad tallying 377 yards against Arizona. However, despite the Dolphins’ offensive performance, the defense collapsed late, allowing a 14-play, 83-yard drive in the final minutes, with the Cardinals hitting a walk-off field goal for a 28-27 win.
With the loss, the Miami Dolphins slip to 2-5 and continue to lose ground on division leader Buffalo. Miami’s latest defeat, paired with their disastrous finish to last year’s season, a loss in the Wild Card Road against Kansas City, and Miami fans are aiming for the throat of team head coach Mike McDaniel.
Miami Dolphins Fans Irate with HC Mike McDaniel
According to Miami Herald columnist Omar Kelly:
“We get what we deserve,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel.
On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins entered their road clash with the Miami Dolphins as a short favorite. Miami started hot with signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa returning from his long absence, holding a 20-10 lead midway through the third quarter. However, following a safety and Arizona touchdown, the Dolphins’ lead shrank to 20-18. Miami returned to a two-score lead on a Raheem Mostert touchdown, but the Cardinals responded with a touchdown scamper from star rusher James Conner. Miami punted on the following drive, with Arizona delivering a walk-off field goal on a five-minute, 14-play, 83-yard drive.
In the final drive, Arizona converted on 2-of-3 third downs, while quarterback Kyler Murray went 4-of-4 for 48 yards. The Miami Dolphins front seven equally struggled, with opposing running back James Conner bowling forward for 29 yards, positioning kicker Chad Ryland for the game-winning 34-yard field goal. The loss sent Miami fans in a spiral, with many calling for the job of head coach Mike McDaniel:
Now fire this clown coach

Enjoy being the running game coordinator in SF next year – that's what he deserves

I hope he’s fired.

I’m seriously at a loss of words.
I can’t believe you just blow a lead at home to the Arizona Cardinals like that.
It’s pathetic.
This loss is on Mike McDaniel for not having this team ready enough.
The play-calling is another story.
Just terrible coaching. #GoFins pic.twitter.com/bv1A4fYALL

Mike McDaniel is the cool teacher at the school that all the kids love, but at the end of the year the parents realize the kids didn't learn anything.

@billygil, is Mike McDaniel on the hot seat? #godblessfootball

You know what sucks…Mike McDaniel is going to be a very good coach someday but unfortunately it will be with a different team while we still struggle to win the division

The inconsistency and lack of discipline and accountability falls on coaching. Mike McDaniel is still treating the HC position like an OC.
