The Miami Dolphins enter Week 4 of training camp with question marks surrounding the state of their depth at outside linebacker. First, Shaq Barrett hung up his cleats before camp started. Second, the Dolphins had to rely on two rookies to carry the workload throughout camp. Finally, three players haven’t practiced because they are recovering from season-ending injuries, including their former first-round pick.
The Miami Dolphins young EDGE rusher suffered a significant injury on Black Friday
Jaelan Phillips suffered an Achilles injury in the fourth quarter of their Week 12 matchup against the New York Jets. Medical staff carted him off the field. An MRI confirmed that he had torn his Achilles, a devastating blow for their pass rush.
Phillips spent the entire offseason rehabbing and missed offseason workouts and spring practices. The Dolphins placed him on the active/PUP list before training camp started, and he missed the first three weeks.
Jaelan Phillips is ready to go
According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Dolphins activated Phillips off the PUP list. He is cleared to practice and returned to the practice field Monday. He hopes to be ready by Week 1.

It would be fantastic if he could stay on the field this years. He’s so talented.

Ooof. Cautiously optimistic that this is a result of modern medicine and not pushing too fast.

Won’t be 100% and doubt he’ll play in week 1
