Maxx Crosby, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end, recently opened up about his struggles with addiction in the past. Crosby has been pretty open about his addiction problems in the past, but gave his fans and followers a closer look into his past life and challenges in the latest episode of the ‘Glory Daze’ podcast with Johnny Manziel.
After struggling with addiction for many years, including the first few years of his NFL career, Crosby finally took a stance and quit. As of now, Crosby is in the fifth year of his sobriety journey.
“Every time I have a doubt or any type of struggle, I just think about my last day using. I felt like I was dying. That’s the person I never want to go back to because I know how dark it was. Even now, it’s tough times. I’ve gone through a lot of adversity in my life even since I’ve been sober. I have all the money, success- that stuff’s harder than anything. But you have to stand true to who you are and stand on your principle and morals, set boundaries and do what’s best. It’s not selfish to do what’s best for you. My whole life, I feel like that was a big part of why I leaned on alcohol and drugs when I was going through it. I was the happy go-lucky guy just trying to fit in. Now, I’m not trying to fit in with anybody. I’m content with who I have around me.” Maxx Crosby said about his addiction struggles in the ‘Glory Daze’ podcast with Johnny Manziel.

Maxx Crosby will be getting ready for the next NFL season with the Las Vegas Raiders after having been part of the team since the 2019 football season. Apart from his life as a professional footballer, Crosby has often opened up about his personal life, especially about his addiction struggles.

Maxx Crosby Feels Shedeur Sanders Should Earn QB1 Spot
Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby also dropped a few nuggets on what he thinks of Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders’ youngest son, Shedeur Sanders. Many analysts have been speculating that Shedeur Sanders will be the next starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns after his spectacular performance in the training camps.

However, Crosby seems to be still skeptical about the whole thing. The defensive end for the Raiders feels that Shedeur Sanders has still not earned his spot as a starting quarterback, and that he needs to spend more time as a Cleveland Brown before being considered for the QB1 spot.
