Maxx Crosby Reveals Thoughts On Freak Accident Before Kansas City Chiefs Matchup

Maxx Crosby has never missed a single game in his entire football career, including high school and college. That was until Sunday, when the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end missed their game against the Cleveland Browns due to a high-ankle sprain, ending his 86-game streak of not missing an NFL game.

The team activated K’Lavon Chaisson from their practice team to fill in for the injured Crosby. The Raiders won 20-16, improving their record to 2-2.

On Monday’s episode of “Let’s Go,” a podcast he co-hosts with eight-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick, Crosby talked about how it felt to miss the first game of his NFL career.

“I’ve never missed a game due to injury, I don’t think, in middle school, high school, college, none of that,” Crosby said. “So, yeah, it was a different experience.”

He added, “Honestly, I’ve never been more stressed during a football game. I’ve never experienced watching my own team from home, and I was losing my mind the whole time.”

Maxx Crosby actually came close to missing his first game last season. He had an issue with fluids in his right knee prior to their game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he pushed through—even sacking Patrick Mahomes.

“My knee got infected and I had to get it drained. I got like 150ccs taken out right when the plane landed. I was in crazy pain and it just got worse and worse. That whole week was a nightmare,” Crosby recalled.

“I had to go to the hospital on Thanksgiving. I was in surgery, I had tubes through my knee, I had to get my whole knee drained and fluid put through it,” he continued. “Because if it got to my bloodstream, that infection, there was a possibility I could lose my life, and that’s not even exaggerating.”

Crosby is set to return on Sunday to play against their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos.

Maxx Crosby bets on Gardner Minshew over Aidan O’Connell

In the height of the Gardner Minshew vs. Aidan O’Connell debate, Maxx Crosby said he favors Minshew over O’Connell in the previous episode of their podcast.

“Gardner’s our guy,” Crosby said. “We know that. Obviously, we love Aidan. You know, Aidan’s a stud. He won, you know, helped us win a lot of games last year. But Gardner’s our guy. At the end of the day, I just want to win. Gardner’s our quarterback, is our captain, and he’s done a hell of a job so far.”

The Raiders and the Broncos, both 2-2, are scheduled to face off this Sunday, and Crosby is looking to help his team rise up in their division standings.
