Matthew Golden, newly drafted wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, dropped a hot take on the size of Green Bay in a recent conversation with press reporters at a charity softball game last Friday. The game was hosted by none other than Green Bay’s star quarterback, Jordan Love at Grand Chute.

Golden was selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 23rd pick in the very first round of the 2025 NFL draft. Before being picked by the Packers, Golden split his college football career between the Houston Texans and the Texas Longhorns. In his senior year with the Longhorns, the wide receiver managed 58 receptions for 987 yards, scoring nine touchdowns for the team.

“I’m starting to realize Green Bay is not too big. A lot of people are gonna recognize me. But it’s a blessing just to be able to be around people that care about you and can see you.” Matthew Golden said to reporters on Friday at the charity softball game hosted by Green Bay Packers quarterback, Jordan Love.

Packers WR Matthew Golden said he recently went fishing with fellow rookie WR Savion Williams in Green Bay.

Matthew Golden also seems to be doing some major team-building with his teammate, Savion Williams. The two football players went fishing over the weekend and even visited the flea market. Williams is also a rookie with the Green Bay Packers, having been selected as the 87th pick in the third round of this year’s draft.

Matthew Golden And Packers To Open Season With Detroit Lions

Matthew Golden and the rest of the Green Bay Packers are prepping for a new season of football and are scheduled to kick it off with a matchup against the Detroit Lions. Before taking on the Lions, the Packers will be stretching their muscles with three preseason games, against the New York Jets, the Indianapolis Colts and the Seattle Seahawks. After meeting the Lions, the Packers will play their second game against the Washington Commanders.

The Green Bay Packers definitely did not do well in their previous NFL season, finishing third in the NFC North with 11 wins and six defeats. The Packers made it to the Wild Card Round to take on the Philadelphia Eagles, but lost deplorably, 22-10. The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl trophy in February, after winning their clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Green Bay Packers have done plenty of work during the offseason and will be curious to know how well their newly added players perform in the upcoming season.
