Dating back to last season’s Rose Bowl, Sophomore Wide Reciever Marvin Harrison Jr has been a powerhouse for the Ohio State Buckeyes offense. He remains in the shadows of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the WR1, But Harrison Jr has emerged as one of CJ Stroud’s favorite targets early this season.
His ability to track the ball at the highest point makes him a versatile receiver and athletic enough to use his speed and skillset as a strength. In addition, he has not shown many, if any, weaknesses through the first three Buckeyes win’s this year.
Marvin Harrison Jr stats through four starts
In Marvin Harrison Jr’s one start as a freshman last year in the Rose Bowl, when Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave decided not to play, Harrison racked up multiple touchdowns and well over 100 receiving yards. Although, it was shadowed by Smith-Njigba’s 347-yard performance. This game was the first glimpse of Marvin that Buckeyes fans saw, and he has only improved from that point on.
So far this season, Harrison Jr has maintained stout stat lines, which makes him one of the best receivers in the country. Through three games this year, Harrison has totaled up 18 receptions, 342 yards, five touchdowns, and a 19.0 AVG yards per catch.

Week 4 preview
This Saturday, Ohio State might have their biggest test yet when they take on Wisconsin in their first Big Ten matchup of the season. Wisconsin has been shaky at times this year, but they can’t be underestimated. They are a well-coached team and strong on both sides of the ball.
Marvin Harrison Jr should have a vital role this week too. When judging just how good Harrison is and will be, you need to see his sample size against good defenses and top-tier defenses. Notre Dame kept him somewhat in check, and now he will have another opportunity to show his worth in prime time on national television against a good in-conference defense.
The game kicks off at 7:30 PM ET on ABC and will be played in the Shoe in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes look to add another Power five win to their resume.
