The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have an interesting recent history at wide receiver. The Bills traded the Chiefs the No. 28 pick in the 2024 draft, allowing speedy wide receiver Xavier Worthy to pair with Patrick Mahomes.
The Bills took Keon Coleman with pick No. 33.
Worthy had a better rookie season than Coleman. The former Texas standout said he wanted to use the Bills’ snub as motivation in the AFC Championship Game, and he recorded 101 total yards and a touchdown in Kansas City‘s 32-29 win over Buffalo.
The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs want the same WR

Per ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs and Bills both want another wide receiver in 2025. Kansas City wants to keep Marquise Brown, but the star pass catcher has plenty of teams willing to bid for him if he goes to free agency in March.
“The Chiefs very much want to keep receiver Hollywood Brown, who should have a good market due to teams’ desire for speed options on the outside,” Fowler wrote. “Mahomes advocated for signing Brown last year and will likely do so again. Will another star quarterback — like Josh Allen — be next? People with the Chiefs I spoke to this week believe that Allen has long wanted to play with Brown.”
Josh Allen needs more help in 2025

Allen did a lot with a little in 2024, which is why he won his first NFL MVP. The Bills’ chances of making a Super Bowl would improve with a true No. 1 WR, and Brown would give Allen a true replacement for Stefon Diggs.
Buffalo has other concerns this offseason. They need to revamp some of the defense. The Bills could give Allen a raise. Allen might have to decide between a bigger paycheck or receiver help.
Mahomes has always been willing to take team-friendly deals.
