The Green Bay Packers (6-3) found a way to give a dilapidated Chicago Bears (4-5) team a lift in Week 11. Earlier in the week, the Bears fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron after the team suffered three straight losses off their bye.
The Packers should have had the edge in the first half. However, a Jordan Love interception led to the Bears’ first touchdown of the game. The Bears took a 10-7 lead into halftime at Soldier Field. Love finished the half 8-of-12 passing for 99 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
A frustrating half for the Green Bay Packers
Those stats aren’t what Packers fans wanted after the former first-round pick signed a four-year contract extension worth $222 million in the offseason.
Many Packers fans took to social media to ask for the Packers to put in backup quality Malik Willis. Willis is 176-of-279 passing for 380 yards and three touchdowns in 2024. He’s added 137 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. More importantly, the 25-year-old quarterback out of Liberty is 2-0 as a starter for Green Bay this season.
Malik Willis time?
“Put in Willis,” wrote a fan.
“Put in Willis,” chimed in another.
“MALIK WILLIS QB1,” posted a fan.
“We might be better with Willis honestly,” suggested another.
“I’ve seen enough, the packers should put Malik Willis in the game. He’s better,” wrote a fan.
“Do the right thing and put in Malik Willis for the 2nd half,” begged a fan.
