New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll opened up about the relationship between wide receiver Malik Nabers and quarterback Russel Wilson, who he described as a “dynamic” duo.

In a recent interview in the “Up & Adams” show, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll described the budding “dynamic” duo that is quarterback Russel Wilson and wide receiver Malik Nabers, who he revealed had been taking extra efforts to prove how serious he intends to be in his second season with the team.
“They communicate a lot,” Daboll said of Wilson and Nabers. “Nabers will come into the quarterback meetings and just sit in there on his own and kind of listen to how the quarterback coaches is teaching things. It’s a very good open dialogue. You know, hopefully it’s dynamic.”
Brian Daboll’s one word to describe the relationship between Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers? Dynamic.

Entering his second NFL campaign, Malik Nabers has quickly cemented himself as the New York Giants’ most explosive playmaker after a stellar rookie year. The LSU product hauled in 81 receptions for 1,312 yards and five touchdowns in 2024, pacing the Giants’ offense and showcasing elite separation skills and contested-catch prowess.

With defensive coordinators now game planning for him and often throwing double teams his way. Nabers will need to widen his route tree, turn short targets into chunk gains and hone his timing down on intermediate breaks.
Sources from within the Giants’ building say they have seen crisp chemistry during 7-on-7 these summer, and Wilson was already gushing over Nabers’s consistency and potential to be “all time.” As New York gets ready for a key Week 1 matchup in Washington, the expectation is clear: Nabers is not going to just duplicate his production as a rookie, he is going to exceed it, as the true centerpiece of an offense eager to put New York back in playoff contention.
Brian Daboll Gets Honest About Ford-Wheaton
Giants head coach Brian Daboll kicked off the team’s press conference this week by warning of a punishing first padded practice under the midday sun, with temperatures climbing into the 90s.
Daboll said the session would likely ramp up to full-speed tackling, emphasizing that all four quarterbacks would get meaningful work to establish timing and continuity in the offense. The head coach also made it clear he won’t tolerate on-field altercations, vowing to remove any player who lets tempers flare during drills.

The biggest blow came when the Giants lost wide receiver and special-teams contributor Bryce Ford-Wheaton for the season, as he tore his Achilles over the weekend.
“My heart aches for that man,” Daboll said, offering a rare glimpse of emotion as he mourned his player’s misfortune.
Brian Daboll also provided updates on a handful of roster bumps and bruises, announcing that wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson would sit out after suffering a knee to the leg in Sunday’s workout.
