Per multiple reports, New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a minor injury at practice on Sunday. It’s unclear at this time how severe Nabers’ injury is, as head coach Brian Daboll did not meet with reporters after practice.
Daboll will have an opportunity to give an update on Nabers’ injury on Monday, when he’s next scheduled to talk to the press.
Malik Nabers left practice for what one would assume is a reason
According to Charlotte Carroll with The Athletic, Nabers appeared to be in pain when he removed his shoe at practice and limped off the practice field. Multiple beat reporters, including ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, reported Nabers appeared to suffer an injury.
However, following practice, there was some confusion about how severe the injury was or whether there was an injury at all. Kay Adams quote tweeted @_MLFootball, an X account that aggregates NFL content, that Nabers couldn’t be injured because she interviewed him after practice.
I dunno man. I just interviewed him. If he was hurt I would not have just interviewed him. https://t.co/EyN9bj66A2

Nabers smiled during his interview with Adams. Despite the injury, he’s in good spirits, a good sign that he won’t miss much practice time, if he has to miss any time at all.
The New York Giants aren’t overly concerned
Per an update by ESPN, Nabers did suffer a “minor” ankle injury, one that they’re not “overly concerned” about:
Nabers left Sunday’s practice because of an injury to his left ankle and did not return.
Nabers is believed to have suffered a minor ankle sprain, and the Giants were not overly concerned about the injury as of Sunday afternoon, sources told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan…
Nabers appeared to suffer the injury during a team drill near the end of practice. The first-round pick removed a cleat on the sideline as trainers examined him.
The Giants should provide an update on Monday, though they should clear up the status of Nabers before.
