LSU Tigers: Who Will Be the Number 1 Wide Receiver This Season?

The LSU Tigers have been known for producing wide receivers. They have had a tremendous track record of success over the years in the NFL. Odell Beckham Jr. played for the New York Giants and other teams, and Jarvis Landry played for the Cleveland Browns and other teams.

For now, Justin Jefferson is currently on the Minnesota Vikings and just received a contract extension. As for Ja’Marr Chase, he is currently on the Cincinnati Bengals roster and he is looking to get a new contract extension with Cincinnati. They both were teammates on the LSU Tigers 2019 National Title team with Joe Burrow as the quarterback.

All of those wide receivers have been very good in the NFL at this point. The LSU Tigers have produced two more wide receivers to the next level and they are Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr.  Nabers was drafted by the New York Giants and Thomas Jr. was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. A lot of people are raving about Malik Nabers being a potential Top 10-15 wide receiver in the league during his rookie season.

As for Brian Thomas Jr., we will see what kind of production he will have during his rookie season for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thomas could be the number-one receiving option in Jacksonville’s offense by the end of the season.

LSU Tigers Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy Could Be the Number One Wide Receiver In the Offense This Season

Kyren Lacy is going to be a senior for the LSU Tigers. He is 6’2″ and weighs 213 lbs. Lacy is projected to be the number-one wide receiver option for the Tigers’ offense this season. A season ago for LSU, he caught 30 passes for 558 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 18.6 yards per catch.

There is no doubt Lacy can very well go over 1,000 yards receiving this season. He is the leading receiver who is returning to the team. Malik Nabers had 1,569 yards receiving last season and Brian Thomas Jr. had 1,177 yards receiving last season.

Chris Hilton Jr. is projected to be the second wide receiver in the LSU Tigers offense. He will be a junior this season and is 6’0″ and weighs 190 lbs. Last season, he was the fourth wide receiver option and caught 13 passes for 225 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with 17.3 yards per catch.

Hilton Jr. will be a very nice receiving option in this offense this season. However, Kyren Lacy will be the go-to wide receiver. To no surprise, he is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Lacy will be another LSU Tigers receiver that will get the spotlight this season.
