Los Angeles Rams have not had their talented left guard Steve Avila since Week 1 because of a knee injury. Avila suffered an MCL sprain that required surgery during the season opener against the Detroit Lions. The Rams placed him on injured reserve, and he has missed seven games and eight weeks.
He returned to practice last week.
The Los Angeles Rams designated their second-year LG last week

The Rams opened Avila’s practice window on Thursday. He returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant and upgraded to a full participant in Friday and Saturday’s practice. He did not have a game designation for today’s game against the Miami Dolphins, and all they had to do was activate him in time for the game.

They did just that

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Rams activated two offensive linemen earlier today. As Rapoport points out, Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson were the two linemen activated in time for today’s game. The expectation is for Avila and Jackson to play, which is great news as the offensive line unit gets two starters back.

Will both players start today?

The Rams haven’t officially announced whether Avila and Jackson will return to the starting lineup for Monday Night Football, but there is a good chance that both will regain their starting spots. The expectation is for their second-year player to start at left guard and for their free-agent acquisition to regain the starting center spot. Meanwhile, Justin Dedich and Beaux Limmer head to the bench.
